Things I Fancied Thursday || 3.0 ||

I promise I didn’t forget! Today was a crazy bustle of piano lessons and makeup lessons from snow days. The weekend is almost here and I’m looking forward to regrouping and crocheting a bit. I also found a free online ‘college’ course on Beethoven’s Sonatas – I can’t wait to listen through the lessons!

I am very careful to be shallow and conventional where depth and originality are wasted.

L.M. Montgomery

Forever one of my favorite authors and a very, very wise woman.

Then a man of God came near and spoke to the king of Israel and said, “Thus says the LORD, ‘Because the Arameans have said, “The LORD is a god of the mountains, but He is not a god of the valleys,” therefore I will give all this great multitude into your hand, and you shall know that I am the LORD.

1 Kings 20:28

It amazes me that the enemy can look for God and not see Him in the valleys – which were carved by His hands to hold the very mercies that extend to the mountaintops.

Josh Groban’s rendition of ‘Pure Imagination’. It’s not Gene Wilder, but it’s amazing, nevertheless. It’s hard to go wrong with Anthony Newley.

I got to take over some of Shoshannah’s school this morning. It consisted of reviewing verb forms and playing multiplication bingo. I took some pictures while she was filling in blanks. She spent a lot of time concentrating, obviously:

^ This is how Rhavanea feels about math.

I finally got around to watching the movie Funny Face this week. You can never go wrong with Richard Avedon and Audrey Hepburn and the film reminded me of how much I absolutely love Avedon’s Hepburn portraits. This is by far my favorite:
